Robert F. Monroe, age 68, of Newport News, VA died at home on December 21, 2022. Bob graduated from H.L. Ferguson High School and attended Thomas Nelson Community College. He was employed by Newport News Shipbuilding and Sinai Hospital in Baltimore, MD.
Bob was a skilled metal worker and wood carver. He was an avid boat builder, creating wooden sailboats and kayaks. He was a sought after knife creator, using meteorites and unusual metals to create blades. He was a photographer, blacksmith reenactor, star gazer, and lover of nature. Bob picked up scraps of wood and created works of art.
Our beloved brother Bob is survived by sister Christine Moore (Dan), and brothers Mike (Lesley), Ryan (Victor Olano), Ned (Theresa), and Kevin (Wendy Wert). He was predeceased by his parents, Harry and Rosemary Monroe and brother Tom.
