harles 'Beetle' Richard Lovelace, 53, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, April 29, 2008.
He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Charlie R. and Florence Otelia Lovelace.
Charles attended Newport News Public Schools and graduated from Warwick High School in 1973. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Virginia State College (University) in 1977, and attended Howard University for graduate school. He had a passion for cooking which led him to pursue an Associate Degree in Culinary Arts from Johnson and Wales Culinary Arts Institute in 1992. He worked in the hotel industry, most recently at the Marriott Newport News at City Center.
Charles leaves to cherish his beloved memories, his devoted siblings, George R. Lovelace Sr. (Gwendolyn) and Diane L. Jordan (Garrison); his devoted niece and nephew, Kimberly J. Croslin (Alton) and George R. Lovelace Jr. (Cletisha); three adoring great-nephews, Matthew B. Croslin, Brandon E. Croslin and George R. Lovelace III; a loving aunt, Ernestine C. Davis (Alphonso); and a host of special cousins and friends.
