Mary Lane
Mary Lane was diagnosed with leukemia the summer after she graduated from Hale. The disease appeared suddenly and took her life even more suddenly. She lived just a little over 2 months after the diagnosis. She had planned to attend OSU in the fall but on August 8, 1981 she lost her battle with the disease. Mary was my best friend for as long as I could remember. We were inseparable. I miss her just as much today as I did on August 9th 1981. I love you Mary!!

Bryan Keith Newstrom
1963-05-14 1978-02-26
A beautiful and touching tribute written for our friend Bryan Newstrom by our classmate, Jay Foster. This was written in 2010 but I have not seen it until I just happened upon it online today. I hope it is ok to share. Bryan was very special... loved by all. He would have gone on to graduate with us at Hale, but if you attended Whitney in the 9th grade, I know your heart still hurts like mine does, for the tragic loss of our friend that year.
