Join us on Saturday, September 7, 2024 for two amazing events! We will begin our day with the 2nd Annual Red Shoe 3k Heart Walk. The Heart Walk will take place from 9am - 11am at Western Regional Park located at 14800 Carrs Mill Rd., Cooksville, Maryland 21723 (Howard County). We are trying to raise $15,000 to purchase blood pressure monitors for those in underserved communities.
On this same day, Saturday, September 7, 2024 we will also host the Veronica Blount Memorial Foundation's Inaugural Ball. While we've hosted the Red Shoe Lunch (RSL) for over fourteen years, until 2023, all of the funds raised from RSL went directly to the American Heart Association. In October, 2023, The Veronica Blount Memorial Foundation (VBMF) became a 501c3 nonprofit organization! We want to celebrate this beginning with our supporters, old and new!
The Inaugural Ball will take place from 7pm - 11pm at Grand Occasions Ballroom located at 9375 Washington Blvd. North in Laurel, Maryland 20723.
VERONICA BLOUNT MEMORIAL FOUNDATION INAUGURAL BALL
The Inaugural Ball is a black tie gala. Guests are asked to wear tuxedos or dark colored suits, gowns or long dresses. Athletic and leisure wear is not permissible. The cost for the Inaugural Ball is $125 Early Bird ( available through July 4th) and $150 regular price. Ticket Sales will end on August 31, 2024 or when tickets are sold out. We are also selling tables of 8. You may purchase an exclusive table for you and your guests. Individual tickets sold will be assigned a table. If you're planning to sit with someone, please purchase your tickets together. There is no guarantee we can seat people together if the tickets are purchased individually.
The Ball will be hosted by Tee Blount, Founder of the Veronica Blount Memorial Foundation and the Red Shoe Lunch. We have a DJ, cocktail hour, open bar, 3 course meal with dual entree, silent auction, tribute to Veronica Blount, dancing, champagne toast, giving campaign and open bar (we know we already said that).

RED SHOE 3K HEART WALK
The registration fee for the Red Shoe 3k Heart Walk is $55. The fee includes your event t-shirt, a drawstring backpack, an event lanyard and your walker's credentials. We are also covering the costs for all credit card processing fees. Red Shoes are not mandatory. The red shoes are symbolic to our fight against heart disease and while they help bring awareness to our cause, they are NOT mandatory. Please join us wearing any comfortable shoe of your choice.

Our amazing raffle will be open to the public and every participant will receive a free raffle ticket for every $100 they raise. After you pay your registration fee, you will be registered on our Red Shoe 3k Heart Walk website where you can raise money for the walk and track your progress.
We will have a block of rooms at a discounted price at Live! Casino and Resort in Hanover, Md. We will provide roundtrip shuttle service to and from the park for a nominal fee of $14 roundtrip. Western Regional Park is approximately 21 miles (35 minute drive) from the resort each way.
