Arline D. Pease Obituary
Arline D. Pease, formerly of Hingham, MA, passed away peacefully on Thursday,
September 30th, 2021. She was born June 29,1932 to the late Kenneth and Hazel
(Graffam) Doucette. Arline was raised in Rockport, Maine and she always regarded that
as home. Growing up she played basketball, and she was the Lobster Queen in 1948,
and graced the cover of Collier’s magazine. She was always a social butterfly who never
shied away from a spotlight.

In 1952 she married the love of her life, the late Richard R. Pease of Rockland, ME
and they spent 55 happy years together. Arline and Dick raised their family in Hingham,
MA where she belonged to the Hingham Ladies Club, Hingham Mother’s Club and the
South Shore Country Club where she was the ladies’ 9 hole champion in 1976. She and
her husband supported all three of their children in their sports and activities, but it was
the trips to Maine as a family that she cherished most. In her retirement years, she loved
to go to Marco Island in the winter, often making it a family trip with the kids. There was
nothing that thrilled her more than the arrival of her grandchildren and great
grandchildren. She and Dick made up the famous ‘Nana&Bumpa’ team that the kids
simply adored. Together they spoiled them rotten and attended anything and everything
they could for each grandchild. She loved to spend time in the pool at Beal’s Cove or in
CT and at Hingham Harbor with them and traveled all over both CT and MA for all kinds
of sporting events. Nana & Bumpa took their kids and families on trips to Marco Island
and to Disney World and treated them all to many memorable times.
