Andy Rush
1949-08-19 2021-11-01Andrew Douglas Rush, died at the age of 72. He studied at the University of Minnesota and Denver University. A businessman and entrepreneur, Andy founded two Minnesota State Fair institutions: Heritage Square's Ice Cream Parlor (now the West End Creamery) and Flora's Mercantile Company. For most of his adult life he owned and ran Rush's Bridal Shop on Nicollet Mall. He loved to spend time outdoors and with his loved ones, appreciating good food and attending live music at the Dakota, the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, and wherever and whenever he could, really. An avid golfer, he hit two career "hole in one's."

She died of liver cancer at the age of 66. In 2007 the American Society of Professional Estimators (ASPE) granted her lifetime CPE status. Additionally, Paulette holds the distinction of being the first woman president of ASPE (2008-2009). Her brother, Craig Rutlen, wrote, “Paulette was a great big sister to me and a wonderful "Auntie" to my son and stepson”.

Alan was a 1967 St. Louis Park State Champion in the mile relay. He then went on to letter four times on the University of Minnesota Track & Field team from 1967-71 and was a member of the the Big Ten Championship team in ‘68. While attending law school at WIlliam Mitchell College of Law, Alan co-founded Shapco Printing, Inc. with his two brothers in 1976. Shapco Printing became one of the top commercial printers in the nation and still exists today. Alan also worked as a Prosecutor for the St. Paul City Attorney’s office. Gordon Walenski
1949-02-02 1968-04-10LCPL Gordon David Walensky. Killed in Action on April 10, 1968. Walensky graduated from Park High in 1967 and joined the Marine Corps in June 1967. He served as a member of a radio relay and construction company, located near the Marine base at Danang.
