I am Heather, the manager at the Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery. In this industry you gain a lot of experience in handling grief. Over the years it has been proven again and again how much animals can help people with the journey through grief. When coming to the cemetery office you will often be greeted by Teddy, our grief support dog and my best friend. I am a self described Pom mom, having three pomeranians that are my (favorite) children. Don't tell my human kids. I have also had several cats over the years that I love dearly. Most were adopted from the SPCA although a couple were ferals that I rescued. As a regular supporter of our local SPCA, this walk-a-thon seemed like a great way to get the staff and community involved. Please support us if you can
