Alfred F. Srp, a St. Joseph High School teacher and administrator, and a World War II Army veteran, died Thursday at home. He was 74.
During his 35 years at St. Joseph, he taught biology, horticulture, math, science and typing. He also served as vice principal and disciplinarian and was inducted into the St. Joseph Hall of Fame.
Mr. Srp was born in Cleveland and graduated from John Adams High School. He earned a bachelor of science degree from John Carroll University.
He service in Germany during World War II, said his niece, Joann Hynes of Strongsville.
His interest were many, including baking pies and sharing them with neighbors, and making ceramics, his niece said.
He belonged to St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Painesville Township.
