James Primosch, Music
James (Jim) Primosch, the Dr. Robert Weiss Professor of Music in the School of Arts and Sciences and a prolific composer and performer, died on April 26 at Penn Hospice at Rittenhouse due to complications from pancreatic cancer. He was 64.
Born in Cleveland, Dr. Primosch earned degrees from Cleveland State University, Penn, and Columbia University, and studied with composers Mario Davidovsky, George Crumb, and Richard Wernick. A fellowship to the Tanglewood Music Center also permitted him to study with John Harbison, to whom Dr. Primosch became a lifelong friend. Mark Reilly
2022-03-19MARK REILLY, age 67, passed away suddenly on March 19, 2022 in Kinsale, Ireland. Originally from Cleveland, Ohio. Beloved husband of Nancy Reilly (nee Christman); dear brother of Patrick (Belva), Cay, Bill (Mary) and Gerry Reilly; loving uncle to many nieces and nephews. Mark was a 1973 graduate of St. Joseph High School in Cleveland, OH and a 1977 graduate of the University of Dayton. He enjoyed traveling and cooking but received the most satisfaction when teaching children English in several Southeast Asian countries. Mark was an active member of the community in his adopted town of Kinsale, Ireland.

As he noted in my yearbook (picture attached), Gregg was a good friend in grade school (St Paul, in Euclid) and high school.

WESTFIELD CENTER – A house fire on Greenwich Road resulted in one person dead and one injured March 7.
Charles Ryder, 61, of Westfield Center, was unable to escape the residence at 7038 Greenwich Road after a blaze broke out at about 5 a.m. The homeowner, Kathleen Price, was transported to Medina Hospital with minor injuries, but reportedly will recover.
The fire is still under investigation.
Westfield Fire and Rescue personnel were on the scene minutes later, as the assistant chief lives down the street.
Chief Richard Fletcher said Price, who is on oxygen, reported waking up in the middle of the night to “take her oxygen off and smoke a cigarette.”

Timothy M. Salay, 67, a resident of the Ohio Veterans Home, passed away Friday, September 8, 2023 at Firelands Regional Medical Center.
He was born October 31, 1955 in Burton, Ohio to Ernest and Louise (Krzepina) Salay.
Timothy graduated from Villa Angela - St. Joseph. He was a veteran of the Air Force who proudly served his country. In his spare time, he enjoyed working the print shop at the OVH Dom.
