Susan "Susie" Nelson, age 50, a resident of Pelican Rapids, Minn., died on Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2005. The cause of death is unknown.
Susan Hope Nelson was born Oct. 26, 1954, in Montgomery, Ala., the daughter of Donald B. and Ellen May (Stemme) Nelson. In 1957, Susie and her family moved to Madison, Wis. In 1972, she graduated from Madison West High School. Susie attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and later completed her degree in nursing. From 1978 until 2002 Susie was a resident of Waunakee and then moved back to Madison until 2005. She recently moved to Pelican Rapids.
Susie really enjoyed caring for others, especially her three sons. She was a swim "Mom" for the youth swim team. Susie took great pride in her children's accomplishments. Susie will be greatly missed by her family. She was a caring and dedicated nurse, especially compassionate to the elderly. Susie's interests included arts and crafts, boating and fishing. She loved her two dogs, Casey and Casper, who were great companions throughout her life.
