Stacy A. Poole, age 29, died on Saturday, December 3, 1983, as a result of a car accident.
He was born on June 13, 1954, in Madison, and has been a life long resident. He was a graduate of West High School in 1972, and at the time of his death was attending MATC in Madison. He is survived bv his fiance, Leslie-Anne Endres of Madison.
Accident Kills Madison Man
A Madison man died and three people were injured early Saturday after a car was struck broadside by another auto at Gammon and Mineral Point roads. Stacy A. Poole, 29, of 2649 Van Hise Ave., died from chest injuries shortly after arrival at University Hospital. Poole was the son of Stanley Poole, vice president of Poole's Cuba Club, 3416 University Ave. The driver of the second car, Scott T. Markart, 23, of 7307 South Ave., Middleton, was in satisfactory condition late Saturday at St. Mary's Hospital Medical Center. Police said he faces arrest on a tentative charge of homicide by intoxicated use of a motor vehicle. Three passengers in the Markart's car were treated for injuries at Madison hospitals.
Police said Poole was driving a Chevrolet Caprice west on Mineral Point Road about 2 a.m. Saturday when his car was hit broadside by a Chevrolet Blazer driven by Markart. Poole was the 49th person to die this year in Dane County traffic accidents. Last year, the county recorded 45 traffic fatalities. Read the news about the accident here
