Joseph “Kaz” Kasinski, 61 of Lyndon Station, formerly of Oregon, Wisconsin passed away peacefully Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2015, from cancer, at the St. Clare Hospice House in Baraboo.
A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held at the Oregon Bowl in Oregon on Saturday, Feb. 14, from 2 -5 p.m. and a second Celebration will be held at Norm’s Bar in Lyndon Station on Sunday, Feb. 15, from 2 — 5 p.m.
Joe was born to Jean Carr and the late Frank Kasinski on Dec. 9, 1953 in Madison. Joe married Janet Young in 1988 and was blessed with his daughter, Anna, in 1993. Joe graduated from Madison West High School in 1972. He was a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity at UW-Madison and managed The Pub on State Street for many years. He went on to become a member of Steamfitters local #394 and enjoyed his employment at General Heating and A.C.
After his wife, Janet’s death in 2003, Joe opened a franchised business called PostNet in Oregon. He was diagnosed with a rare aggressive cancer Chondrosarcoma in 2012. After multiple surgeries and hard fighting, his cancer spread to his lungs in the spring of 2014.
Joe is survived by his daughter, Anna Kasinski of Minneapolis; mother, Jean Carr of Oregon; sisters, Nancy Kasinski of Sycamore, Illinois, Mary Carr of Madison and Lisa Carr of Washington; niece, Ashley Kasinski of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and of course his three beloved dogs, Belgie, Brandie and Gwen as well as many other family members and friends. He was preceeded in death by his father, Frank, and his wife, Janet.

Jo was part of the Randall gang. He seemed very sweet and soft-spoken and I dont recall him ever being anything but kind and never picking on the girls. (that's one of the things we tend to remember from those early years!)
