Mrs. Ellwood went to be with her Lord and Savior on October 13, 2025, after a glorious few days of being surrounded by most of her loving family in Athens, Texas.

Ellen Marie (Anderson) Ellwood was born on June 15, 1954, in Lincoln, Nebraska, the daughter of Frank Barr Anderson and Mary Jo (Gish) Anderson. She graduated from Madison West High School in Madison, Wisconsin, and earned her bachelor's degree in Recreation from the University of Northern Colorado. Ellen will be fondly remembered for her famous chocolate chip cookies and her ability to make friends with anyone. She will be greatly missed by all those whose lives she touched.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her loving husband of over 44 years, Vince Ellwood of Star Harbor; children, Andy Ellwood and wife Maddie of New York City, New York, Katie Scheele and husband Abe of Hacketstown, Ireland, Peter Ellwood and wife Kristen of Frisco, Texas, and Nathan Ellwood and wife Arlene of Austin, Texas; grandchildren, Eloise Ellwood, Tadhg Scheele, Maeve Scheele, Brynlee Ellwood, Braxton Ellwood, Branson Ellwood, and Bretleigh Ellwood; two sisters, Louise Anderson-Dana and husband Bruce of Portland, Oregon, and Irene Anderson and spouse Gail Fitzhugh of Tucson, Arizona, and brother, Herb Anderson and wife Linda of Lincoln, Nebraska.
