BLOOMINGTON — Rita Nora Buczyna, 70, passed away on Monday, April 25, 2022, at her sister's home having spent her final days surrounded by the family who loved her.
Rita was born in Chicago, IL, to Eric and Alvina Bajars (both deceased) but grew up in Elmhurst, IL. She met her late husband, Kenneth Buczyna, while attending the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. They married in 1974. They had a wonderful life together until his death in 1984.
She is survived by her sisters: Vita (Brian) DeBrock and Anita (Bobby) Meredith; her niece, Stefanie DeBrock; her nephew, Matthew (Ashley) DeBrock; and her grand-nephew, Mason DeBrock.

James Bartels

James E. Bartels, 49, a toolmaker and diemaker at Star Die and Molding Co. in Elk Grove Village, died of liver failure Saturday, Oct. 27, in his Elmhurst home.
The son of a Marine, Mr. Bartels was born in Lake County and raised on the West Coast. He had lived in Elmhurst since the early 1960s. "He was in a serious car accident in the 1970s and received tainted blood while being treated, causing hepatitis C," said his wife, Darlynn. "The hepatitis turned out to be a silent killer."

Jeffrey R. Bidgood, 69, of Sandwich, IL passed away on June 27, 2021. Jeff was born on February 28, 1952 in Elmhurst, IL to Robert and Florence (Van Der Molen) Bidgood.
Jeff was an IBEW Electrician. He was an absolutely hardworking and loving husband. He loved to tinker with almost everything and was a master of all trades. He enjoyed small farms and machinery with many accomplished restorations of all types from tractors, boats, cars, and machines of all sorts. Jeff excelled at building his dreams.
Jeff is survived by his wife, Sue; 2 four-legged kids, Cooper and Foxy; as well as 1 brother, Scott (Elizabeth) Bidgood. He is preceded in death by his parents.

Twin sisters from Elmhurst were killed yesterday when the car in which they were riding slammed into a concrete bridge abutment on the Turner Turnpike in Creek County, near Bristow, Oklahoma.
The victims were identified as Diana J. Blanchfield and Deborah J. Blanchfield, 20, of 677 Washington St.
The highway patrol said the twins were riding in a car driven by their brother, James C., 17, who apparently went to sleep at the wheel. When the car hit the bridge, it burst into flames. He was pulled from the wreckage and hospitalized with burns on his head and arms.

A car slammed into a concrete bridge and burst into flames on the Turner Turnpike west of Barstow early today, killing 20-year-old twin sisters from Elmhurst, Ill.
Their 17-year-old brother was pulled from the flaming wreckage and survived.
The victims were Diana Janit Blanchfield and Deborah Jenette Blanchfield, both of Elmhurst, Ill.
Highway Patrolman Bill Blue said the brother, James C. Blanchfield, was driving the 1970 model sedan and apparently went to sleep.
