Michael Jacobson, 44, of Ames died of sepsis Tuesday at Mary Greeley Medical Center. The body was cremated, and memorial services will be at 10:30 am today at Zion United Church of Christ in Hubbard. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Ontario Cemetery in Ames.
Mr. Jacobson was born in Eldora and had lived in Ames most of his life. He was the owner and operator of Sportsman's Lounge in Ames and also had worked for KE Amusements. He was a member of the American Legion and Elks Lodge.
Surviving him are his wife Margaret; his mother, Marge Blohm of Hubbard; his father, John Jacobson of Fort Dodge; three sisters, Lynn Doering of Hubbard, Stacey Jacobson of Radcliffe, and Kelley Nickel of Des Moines; and a brother, Steve, of Dubuque.
Boeke Funeral Home in Hubbard is handling arrangements.

Mike, or Jake to many, was always such a kind and caring person. I don't think there was a wicked bone in his body. Will always remember your smile and your laid back soul.
