Mississippi Mud Pie

Ingredients

1 cup of Flour

1 stick of Butter

1 cup of Grated Nuts (Pecans, Walnuts, etc.)

Mix together and put in bottom of 9" X 13" Pan

Instructions

Set oven at 350 degrees and bake for 15 - 20 minutes (ovens vary)

1 8-ounce package of Philadelphia Cream Cheese

1 cup of Sugar

1/2 Large Container of Cool Whip

Mix together and spread on top of Crust

1 Large Box of Instant Chocolate Pudding (or Instant Lemon Pudding, etc.)

1 cup of Milk

Pour into Crust and spread on top with balance of Cool Whip

Refrigerate.

Notes

This treat has been one of Aunt Louise's specialties over many years for Holiday Dinners or family visits in Dayton, Ohio.

Mom Bernice Stokes Christmas Snow Ball Cookies

Ingredients


2 cups, plus 6 tablespoons
Powdered Sugar
2 ¼ cups Flour
½ pound Butter
1 cup Nuts 

Instructions

Combine powdered sugar, flour,
butter and nuts. Roll into little
balls. Bake for 20-25 minutes at
325 degrees. Let cool. Place 2
cups powdered sugar in paper
bag. Put in snow balls and shake
for coating. Yields 3 dozen.

These Holiday treats have been enjoyed for many years by the children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. The recipe was also shared with all of the guests for the Bernice Stokes 90th Birthday Celebration in 2017 in Dayton, Ohio.

Mom Bernice Stokes Snicker Doodle Cookies

Ingredients

1 ½ cups Sugar
1 cup Shortening
2 Eggs
2 ¾ cups Sifted Flour
2 teaspoons Cream of Tartar
1 teaspoon Soda
½ teaspoon Salt
Sugar and Cinnamon Mixture 

Instructions

Cream sugar, shortening and
eggs. Add Sifted flour, cream of
tartar, soda and salt to creamed
mixture. Mix until well blended;
chill if desired. Form into small
balls the size of small walnuts;
roll in sugar and cinnamon
mixture. Place on an ungreased
cookie sheet about 2 inches
apart. Bake at 425 degrees for
8-10 minutes. Cool before
removing from cookie sheet.
Yields 90 servings.
