How Domains Work & How to Set One Up

A domain is your website’s address on the internet (for example: www.yourevent.com).
For your website to work correctly, the domain must be properly connected to your MyEvent site.

 

Getting a Paid Domain for Your MyEvent Website

 

A paid domain is a custom web address for your website (for example: www.yourevent.com). To use a custom domain with your MyEvent site, you can either purchase one through MyEvent or use a domain you already own from another provider.

 

MyEvent offers the option to buy and manage your domain directly within the platform, making the setup process simple and fully integrated with your website. This is often the easiest option, as no external configuration is required.

 

Step 1: Understand Common Domain Issues

 

If your website is not loading yet, it is usually due to one of the following reasons:

 

  • Domain setup not complete – the domain is not fully connected to MyEvent.
  • DNS propagation delay – changes can take 24–48 hours to fully take effect after updating settings.
  • Incorrect DNS settings – required DNS records (A record or CNAME) may be missing or incorrect.
  • Domain expired or not registered – the domain must be active and valid.

Option 1: Buy a Domain Through MyEvent

If you don’t already own a domain, you can purchase one directly through MyEvent.

  • $25 USD – 1 year

  • $75 USD – 3 years

  • $125 USD – 5 years

Option 2: Use a Domain You Already Own

If you already use email addresses with your domain (for example: info@yourdomain.com), do not proceed on your own.
Please contact our support team so we can help you avoid email interruptions.

If you do NOT use email with your domain:

Follow the steps below:

  1. Log in to your domain registrar (where you purchased the domain, such as GoDaddy, Namecheap, etc.).

  2. Locate the DNS or Name Server settings.

  3. Replace the existing name servers with the following:

    • dns1-tor.myevent.com

    • dns2-sf.myevent.com

    • dns3-lon.myevent.com

  4. Save the changes.

  5. Return to your MyEvent dashboard and click “Add your domain”.

  6. Allow 24–48 hours for the domain to fully connect.
