Hotel

A room block has been reserved at the Overton Hotel at a standard room rate of $145 or preferred level rate of $195 per night. Rooms are subject to 15% occupancy tax. Book online or by phone at 806-776-7000. Please specify the block name of "Monterey High School 50th Year Reunion." The room block reservation cutoff date has been extended through May 30, 2025. (The booking link will take you to the group reservations page. It will automatically populate the checkin and checkout date as the first date available in the block. You will have to adjust the checkin and checkout dates to your desired stay and click UPDATE.)

  • Hotel Reservations/Cancellation Policy: To book, you will need to provide a credit card. Nothing is charged to this card unless you "no show" and forget to cancel your reservation by 4 p.m. one day prior to your stay, as per the Overton's 24-hour cancellation policy. The no show fee is the first night of the reservation plus applicable taxes.
  • Credit Card Hold for Incidentals: You will be asked at check-in to provide ID (name on ID must match reservation) and a credit card to cover room tax and incidental charges. The Overton charges a $50 incidental hold per night of each guest's stay, per room. The hold is released at checkout (within 3-5 business days) with final billing as long as no incidental charges were made to the room number. Examples of incidental charges that can be made to the guest's room number are: valet parking fees, room service, bar tabs, gift shop purchases, restaurant meal charges for breakfast, lunch or dinner, in room internet upgrades, movie purchases, amenity deliveries, etc.
  • Additional Nights at Block Rate: If you wish to stay nights before or after the designated block dates, call the hotel directly. The group rate will be honored for those extra nights on a case-by-case basis, subject to hotel availability.
  • Airport Shuttle: To schedule the airport shuttle, please call the bell stand at 806-776-7000. The shuttle leaves the hotel every hour and half hour. For pickup, please give them your name, date of arrival, arrival time and flight number. They will track your flight and stay updated on all delays. If you need to schedule a departure, please schedule the shuttle for the time you would like to leave the hotel.
  • Parking: Self-parking is free. Valet parking is $10.

Other hotels near both evening venues include Cotton Court and Hyatt Place.

(NEW!) Getting Around Lubbock: Uber and Lyft services are available. Additionally, some classmates traveling to Lubbock have expressed interest in carpool options. We created this spreadsheet where you can add your name to provide a ride to someone without a car, or you can submit your name if you need transportation to an event. (Think of it as sophomore year lunch when few of us had a driver's license or a car, and we piled in together!)
