What have been your greatest joys, challenges, or accomplishments?:
Joys: my two daughters, Sarah & Mallory, and my granddaughter Georgia --(another is on the way!) Accomplishments: finding a great life partner, raising two strong women who are happy people and good citizens, teaching middle school kids of all kinds (it's really a fun age!!) and coaching other teachers. Challenges: surviving a brain tumor, and helping my husband survive a major heart attack he had while we were traveling in the car. |

What would people be surprised to know about you?: I think people would be surprised to know how much I loved teaching middle schoolers, and how much I loved the creativity of teaching itself. I especially loved teaching alternative kids -- who came into my classroom because they were failing everything. I was half-teacher/half-mom to many of them. H | |
Are you still in contact with any fellow classmates?: Some through the reunion committee, others with occasional get-togethers. I always feel so fortunate to see them! | |
Please share a favorite high school memory?: Biking to dance line practice at Kenwood Park with Judy Romness and Colleen Spotts, organizing the HighSteppers Ball at the Minneapolis Club, and chow mein day in the lunchroom! |
