Birth and deceased dates are close, if not exact.  Susan was my next door neighbor for the time I lived in Ballwin (4th-12th grade).  Coincidentally, on my first day of school, but before we'd moved into our new home, Susan and I ended up in the same Claymont Elementary School class and the teacher assigned her and Connie Huck (another classmate, also deceased) to me as my new-kid helpers.  As neighbors, we shared a lot together over the years.  I recall sitting in her living room with other neighborhood kids watching the release of The Wizard of Oz on their television (color?  maybe that's why we were there).  With other neighborhood kids, we hung out in yards, each other's houses, walked through water sewer pipes (Claymont), swam at the Claymont Country Club, put on silly plays in the yard, went to carnivals and Six Flags, drove past boy-crush houses and more.  We went through the good times together and the typical youth drama together.  The Kovacik's front porch was the bus-stop meeting place for several neighbors.  I understand Susan raised a son, Kai, in Florida, and maintained a good relationship with her brother, Keith, class of '76.  At this age, I cannot recall how often I saw her past high school...perhaps summertimes, and maybe on one of my visits back to the area in my 20s.  I hope others can add to Susan's story for us.
