I did not keep up with Connie after high school, but saw her name on the list of deceased classmates. We met on my first day in 4th grade at Claymont Elementary School. Our teacher, Mrs. Hosenfelt, assigned Connie, and Susan Kovacik (who, coincidentally was to be my new next door neighbor, and has also passed away) to help me get around in my first few days. My memory of Connie on that day and always was of a very sweet person with an infectious smile. I was able to find her obituary and learned that she was married for many years and raised two sons. Birth and deceased dates are close, if not exact. Susan was my next door neighbor for the time I lived in Ballwin (4th-12th grade). Coincidentally, on my first day of school, but before we'd moved into our new home, Susan and I ended up in the same Claymont Elementary School class and the teacher assigned her and Connie Huck (another classmate, also deceased) to me as my new-kid helpers.
