Alberta Richie Scott departed this life after an extended illness.  She was the daughter of the late Dennis and Ludella Richie. She joined Cleveland C.M.E. Church at an early age. She was an active member while her health permitted. She was the Church Treasurer, a delegate for the Annual Conference, a member of the Stewardess Board and the Missionary Society. She was a member and the pianist for the first Sunday night note singing class held at various churches in the North georgia and Tennessee Convention. She was a volunteer for the Melas on Wheels for over 20 years at the Mabel Scott Senior Citizens Center and the Co-ordinator for the Annual Meals on Wheels program.  Alberta...

Curtis Jackson Scott was born June 7, 1935 to the late Andrew and Alberta Richie Scott. Curtis was called home to be with the Lord on October 18, 2014.  He joined Cleveland CME Church at an early age, serving faithfully until his illness.  He loved his church!!



Curtis worked in Law Enorcement for a total of 43 years.  While in law enforcement, he was able to work through the ranks and become the first black Assistant Chief and the City Marshall.  He was an active member of the group called National Association of Black Law Enforcement (NOBLE).

Beatrice Richie Simpson, age 95, died at Stephens County Hospital. She was born in Franklin County Hospital.  She was the daughter of the late Dennis and Ludella Richie. Beatrice joined Cleveland C.M.E. Church at an early age and united in marriage to the late Harrison Simpson.  She later joined Ellis Chapel C.M.E. Church.  While serving as a faithful member, she was affiliated with many auxilaries including the President of Stewardess Board, Sunday School Teacher, and Class Leader for many years. Bucilla Richie Thompson was born to the late Henry Richie and Flora Burton Richie. She was a domestic worker and homemaker.  She married Mack Thompson  and they have 5 children (George Thompson, Steve Thompson, Andrew Thompson, Mac Ann Martin, Sara T. Johnson). She joined Cleveland C.M.E. Church at an early and and attended and worked until her health failed. She was the Mother of the Church, a Missionary, sang with the Note Singers, and a former member of the Eastern Star.

Mr. William Mack Thompson, son of the late Alfred and Mary Jane Jarrett Thompson, went home to his eternal rest on Monday, August 22, 2022. He was the last of 17 children.
He was married to the late Bucilla Richie Thompson. They were married for 64 years, 10 months and 8 days at the time of her death. They were blessed with 9 children, 4 of which preceded them in death, (Sons, Robert Thompson & Bobby Arthur & 2 daughters, Kaye & Faye Thompson) all of Toccoa, Ga. He joined the St. Mark Baptist Church at an early age. He served as a deacon, church clerk and Sunday school teacher for many years. Hattie Geneva Richie was born to the Late Hubert and Mary(Thorton) Richie, January 29,1941. Her brothers and Sisters are Lonnie Joe Richie, The late Joe Nathaniel Richie, Mrs. Pauline Witt, Mrs. Jessie Martin, the late Weldon Richie, the late Annie Jean Richie . Hattie was married to the late William Curtis Carson(Billy) in 1952. She has two children , Mrs. LeeAnn (Carson) Waller, Mrs. Teresa(Carson) Odunfa. At time of death, Hattie had five Grandchildren and seven Great-grandchildren.

Emily Teresa Willis was born in Stephens County, GA to Emma Jo Simpson and the granddaughter of Beatrice Richie Simpson. She joined Ellis Chapel C.M.E. Church at an early age. She also was a Certified Nurse Aide for many years.  Emily was married to Trent Willis and had one daughter (Shanna Willis).  At time of death, Emily had two grandchildren.
