On January 16, 2017, David Louis Talley died of congestive heart failure in his home. David was only a few days away from his 63rd birthday on January 22nd. David was a strong man of God and his family is comforted knowing he is in Heaven with his Savior. He was a loving husband, father, and friend.

Tamlyn Steinke was born in Denver on 9/13/53 and passed peacefully at home 9/2/16 surrounded by family. Tamy graduated from Ball State University. She met Richard Steinke and they married 3/21/81. She most enjoyed volunteering at the kids schools & for LB Memorial Auxiliary. She is survived by husband, Richard, daughters, Sarah, Kyle, and Lauren, brother, Ron and Kirk Thomson; many in laws, nieces, and nephews. Her reach in the community was always felt through selfless action and commitment. A special thanks to those that supported and comforted her.

Scott E. Tilsley, 64 of Denver, passed away May 18, 2018.

He was born January 26, 1954 In Denver, Colorado, the son of Wade and Marjorie (Neimeyer) Tilsley. He was a graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School. He attended the University of Colorado at Boulder.

Scott is survived by his brother, Steven Tilsley; daughters, Cynthia and her husband Jeff and granddaughter, Alexia; daughter Rachel and her husband Greg, and grandson, Sean. He is preceded in death by mother, Marjorie Jean Tilsley. He was followed in death by his father, Wade Tilsley.

Mary Kay Walker of Aurora, a dancer and producer, died May 8. She was 46.

Services were May 19 at Horan & McConaty Family Mortuary. Interment was in Mount Olivet Cemetary.

She was born May 19, 1954, in Denver.

She was a dancer and dance instructor. She recently produced a multicultural dance program at Columbine High School with support from students and the Mizel Museum.

Her interests included gardening and travel.

Tana Lynn Wedum Bate was born and raised in Denver and passed away on the morning of September 21 after a long illness. Late in life she married Richard Bate who provided unflagging love, patience, and support. Tana’s life would not have been nearly as comfortable and happy had it not been for Richard. They were devoted to each other. Tana was pre-deceased by her parents, Otis L. and Mary C. Wedum, and is survived by her three siblings (Ann, John, and Bill) and by her nieces and a nephew (Kristine, Julia, Katy, Olivia, Eleanor and Spencer). Carol deBerniere Whitaker, a retired investment banker and artist, lived her own life according to her own terms and passed peacefully at her Denver home on May 19, replaying videos from her childhood at Grand Lake in her mind. She died of pancreatic cancer at the age of 68.

David Winslow, 54, Hays, died Saturday, March 21, 2009 at his home.

He was born July 5, 1954, in Ann Arbor, Mich., to Robert and Loma Dayle (Brinser) Winslow.

He married Doris Herman on Sept. 26, 1998, in Hays.

He volunteered at Community Support Services Center and St. John’s Rest Home. He also enjoyed read and writing poetry.

Matthew Albert Winston was born on Halloween night, 1954 in Denver, Colorado. From a young age, he gained the reputation of being witty and clever. He graduated from Denver Public Schools in 1972 and continued on to become a welder and a blacksmith-which became his lifelong passions. In 1977, he met the love of his life, Emily Joyce Adkins, and they married on August 25th, 1979. He moved to Oklahoma and quickly became a staple in the community of Lost Creek United Methodist Church. From there, he decided to pursue his interests in history and geography.
