On a sunny, Saturday morning on September 10th, Moore Engineering kicked off it’s first charity walk. Piggy-backing on MES annual Crabs and Cruises party, the team decided to share the food, fun, and crabs and invoke some good into the world.
The Cooper River Park is often a vehicle for charity walks, offering a 3.7 mile trek around a beautiful water scene. This created a perfect opportunity as we invited the public and our clients to submit donations and walk in support of The Children’s Home Society of New Jersey and Save the Children. Both organizations fund services to benefit children and families going to through a variety of difficult times. By the end of the campaign, we raised $4,611.64 in donations and sponsorships and will be matching the same.
We welcomed members from Grungo & Colarulo, Fredson Statmore Bitterman, and even a representative of The Children’s Home Society of New Jersey. Starting early at 10:00 AM, guests arrived and stayed until the party ended at 5:00 PM. Guests couldn’t get enough of the Whole Hog Café BBQ, and the kids tired themselves out on the bounce slide. The water was calm enough for plenty of kayaking, sailing, and even some fishing. We were happy to also welcome interested passersby to the event, who were happy to donate when learning of the cause.
