After graduation, I attended U. of Wisconsin Stevens Point where I received my degrees in Math and German, neither of which I used. I worked in banking and mortgages for 35 years and during the financial crisis of 2007-2016, I was fortunate enough to secure employment with FDIC specializing in liquidating failed banks. Following my retirement by FDIC at the end of the crisis, I went to work as a contractor for the DOJ/US Marshals Service managing their national real estate title department handling properties seized from convicted parties.
I am proud to have received my Certified Fraud Examiner designation.
I have been married for 44 years, been blessed with a wonderful intelligent daughter and 2 grandsons that I find adorable.
After some health issues in 2018, I am active and enjoying life and grateful for every minute.

Hello to all! Seems not that long ago but I guess it has been. Currently living in Minnesota but we feel like we are half way back as we have a place in southern Colorado where we raise some hay and cattle. I went to Minnesota after TJ for undergrad and football at Bethel College and then went on for my MBA at University of Minnesota. Spent 30 years at General Mills in Finance and Investments. Best deal while at General Mills was buying The Pillsbury Company back from the Brits and bringing the Doughboy back to the US. Retired in 2009. Married Greta Holland (TJ'73) in 1976 and we had four boys!! Now they have returned the favor and we have six grandkids-3 boys and 3 girls. They are so much fun. The grandkids that is. The boys were great but the grandkids are even better!! Since retirement I'm in the "small company"career as I now work for three small companies in finance and investments. Enjoying life, looking forward to new things everyday!

What a whirlwind! Fifty years? Really? Couldn't be. The past 10 years have been quite the trip. I was working in land development until 2009 when I was laid off, like so many in the business were. That led to four years of caring for my mom with Alzheimer's Disease, back in the old neighborhood and everything.
In 2015, had to move mom to a care situation. I then was looking for work again, in my field. Ended up in McPherson, Kansas of all places! That lasted a year until I went to Morgan County for five years. Now I am in Elizabeth as Community Development Director and loving that location, but still trying to sell my house in Fort Morgan.
I look forward to seeing everyone there. Especially those that have been on a long strange trip!

Thank you reunion committee, the email you gave me worked! Brenda Mauck (now Carney) contacted me today and said she would like to come to the reunion, due to my offering to escort her around (like I did in high school). She'll be there with Patty #8! (Patty is the name she gives her guide dogs). I'll be signing up for the reunion events once I know which ones Brenda wishes to attend.

I cannot believe 50 years have gone by! After graduation I moved to Albuquerque, NM where I met my husband of 46 years. We have 3 kids, 9 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandson. We have lived in Albuquerque, Monroe, LA, Lubbock, TX and the DFW area. I have worked in the grocery industry with my last job of database manager for an international sales and marketing company for 23 years prior to retirement 8 years ago. My husband and I moved to the tiny town of Pine, AZ 4 years ago and absolutely love it here! I still cannot believe it’s been 50 years!

Hello TJ! What a long strange trip it’s been. I’m retired from 47 years as a Paramedic, Firefighter, and finally a family practice PA. Now I spend my time playing with grandchildren and as much golf as possible. Remember life is about having fun and finding adventure.

I've thought long and hard on what I should put here. There aren't enough characters, as my life has been filled. Two divorces, two daughters and two grandsons later, I live alone in a small, beautiful mountain town. My health is very poor, so I live a very quiet life. I've dedicated the remainder of my life to Jesus. I wish everyone the best and hope all have fun at the reunion!!!

A question for everyone: I worked with the 40th yr reunion group and tried every which way I could making contacts w CU Boulder, the Colo Blind Society, etc to find Brenda Mauck Hewitt who graduated from TJ with all of us. I've never been able to locate her. She worked at Mtn Bell as a software programmer and I had lunch w her about 25 yrs ago when she was accompanied by Patty (#6) guide dog, a German Shepherd. Does anyone have any other ideas on how to make contact w Brenda, so we can invite her to the reunion?
As for me, I've worked as a physician assistant for 35 years, 16 of those while also working in academic medicine/clinical research. I've written a NIH clinical grant and they wanted to fund it once I acquired my PhD in clinical trials epidemiology.
My mother needing help after her open heart surgery and eventual worsening of her dementia prevented my becoming this NIH clinical grantee.
All of my family has now passed on: my younger brother died in India from a hiking accident in 2004. Both of my parents have passed on, my dad in 1999 and my mom in 2016. My other 2 siblings have also recently died due to covid vax side effects in 2021.
I have my BS and PA degree from Baylor College of Medicine. I have my MPH from UT School of Public Health in Houston. I partially finished my PhD in epidemiology at UT.
I'm looking forward to seeing everyone at the reunion.

After graduating from TJ, I went to the University of Colo. Denver for my associate degree in French, but, ended up being an award winning cosmetologist for many years. I finally went into the family business, real estate with my dad and was a Real Estate assistant for over 30 years. I am still married to Robert Wylie (TJ class of 1972). We had 2 children, 7 grandsons, 1 granddaughter and 2 adorable great grandsons. Robert and I moved from Colorado 4 years ago to Southern New Mexico, and are content with our lives in a slower paced ambiance. Both Robert and I are Vietnam Veterans and were proud to have served our country. Robert is an award winning sign maker with his brother Jason who owns KL Graphics for the Monument sign he designed and fabricated at Mount Rushmore, and other locations throughout the United States. His passion was building homes and there are quite of few custom houses that he built in different parts of Colorado. We happily lived in one for over 15 years in Aurora before leaving Colorado and the cold weather. We are still Coloradoan at heart, but, love it here in New Mexico.

I went to college in Nebraska to be a Math teacher. When I got in front of those 8th graders I decided that I did not want to do that the rest of my life. I got married and got a job at a manufacturing plant thinking I could work there until I found something better. I retired from there after 40 years, from the Quality Department. I started my own business as a Quality Consultant. I still do that off and on. I also putz at a coffee shop we are part owners of. We have been involved in the Evangelical Free Church over the years and have been back to Colorado (after settling in Nebraska) to visit relatives. My parents have passed and last summer my sister passed so now we spend most of our trips visiting grandkids. I am looking forward to seeing you all this summer.

I went to CU Boulder and became an English and French teacher. After a few years in the Denver area, I went to France with a Christian student group called the Navigators and met my husband Tim there. We later went to Côte d'Ivoire (Ivory Coast) and spent 31 years there with a mission called SIM. I had a women's small business project and a weekly radio drama, among other things. Our kids grew up there. We are living in Aurora and I am working as a French interpreter in hospitals, courts, schools, therapy.

After TJ, four years at CU – Majored in Economics. Took a programming class as filler my senior year. Decided I wasted four years of college. Programming is what I wanted to do when I graduated!!
Thirty years in Information Technologies at the phone company – retired. Sixteen more years contracting with variety of companies doing System’s Engineering work. Retired for good in 2019, just in time for the pandemic to ruin the retirement plans. LOL
Still enjoying retirement though. Nice to get a paycheck without having to do the job. They say that if you can find a job you would do as a hobby, you'll never work a day of your life. I loved and looked forward to going to work almost every day. I can safely say, I never worked a day of my life.
Married, divorced, married again and one lovely daughter and only four legged grandkids.
Enjoying reconnecting with classmates as we track down the missing on the reunion committee.
I once said, if I could bowl a 300 game and get a hole-in-one in golf, I would die I happy man. I got the 300 game in 2014. Now I just play golf hoping I get lucky one day on a par 3 and get that hole-in-one.
That’s my life story for the last 50 years. I look forward to reading everyone else's story and hope you had a fun 50 years also.
