TJ Class of 72-Reunion Site

Our Thomas Jefferson Class of 1972 50th Reunion spans three days:  Friday, August 5th, thru Sunday August 7th, 2022, with the main event, the Reunion Dinner/Party, on Saturday, August 6th, at the Wellshire Inn, Denver, CO.  Here is a list of all Reunion activities:

To ensure your participation in many of these activities, you must RSVP for you (and if applicable) your guest at the bottom of this page.  ONLY Wellshire dinner requires payment when you sign-up for a reservation.

Friday, August 5, 2022:

• CASUAL GOLF:  Join fellow classmates in a casual round of 9 holes, Par 3 golf at Foothills golf course at (click on the address for a link to a map --->) 3901 S Carr St, Denver, CO 80235.  This cost will be $12 plus a $5 surcharge (for pre-reserving tee times) for $17 per person, to be paid by 7/28.  Coordinator will email those who sign-up to arrange for payment.  Four tees times are reserved via the surcharge at 8:15, 8:24, 8:33, and 8:42.  Rental clubs are available for $8 with a limited number of sets available.  Motorized carts will be available for $11/rider and push carts for $4 for 9 holes.  If you wish to golf with someone in your foursome or desire one of the specified tee times, please enter that in the RSVP Comment/Request text box.  To participate in this activity, you must RSVP for you and (if applicable) your guest at the bottom of this page. 
  
  Policies for Group Golf at Foothills:
• Fees are set regardless of the player’s residency.
• Refunds will not be given for “no shows”/entrants failing to play. 
• Please submit a participant roster to the Pro Shop in advance of the outing so we can share with our Starter.  (Coordinator will take care of this)
• All food, beer and liquor consumed at the course must be purchased from Foothills Golf Course.

• SERIOUS GOLF:  Join fellow classmates for 18 holes of regulation golf at Wellshire, 3333 S Colorado Blvd, Denver, CO 80222 <--(Click on the address for a link to a map).  The cost will be $46.00 Green Fee + $19 cart fee per person to be paid at the club house prior to heading out.  Club rental fee is $20.  Approimately 3 foursomes will be reserved ahead of time and signup being first come, first scheduled.  To participate in this activity, you must RSVP for you and (if applicable) your guest at the bottom of this page.

• WELCOME SOCIAL:  We want to welcome everyone to our reunion weekend celebration at Chopper's Sports Grill (click on the name to see their website), at 80 S. Madison St., Cherry Creek, Denver, CO, 80209 (click on the address for a map), from 4:00 to 7:00 PM.  You are welcome to stay until your voice gives out from laughing, talking, and catching up with old friends.  This event is a cash bar and there will be a variety of food available for purchase.

Saturday, August 6, 2022:

• SCHOOL TOUR:  A tour of the school has been scheduled to begin at 10:00 AM.  Morning refreshments will be provided about 9:30 AM before the school opens for touring.  There is no cost for this event.  It will last approximately 2 hours.  For those of us who may be having Senior Moments, here is the school's address as a link to a map.  (click here for map ----->)  3950 S Holly St, Denver, CO 80237
  UPDATE:  The original plan of refreshments before the tour has become a logistics issue. Bring your own beverage if desired. Meet in the parking lot by 9:45.  A few extra waters (beyond your own beverage) will be available.

• PICNIC:  A picnic will be held in the park south of the TJ School tennis courts.  This is a Bring Your Own Food and Drink (BYO) (no alcohol).  This event is scheduled to begin at Noon (12:00 PM) and last until you feel you need to leave to get ready for this evening's main event.

• MAIN REUNION EVENT:  The main reunion event is being held at The Wellshire Inn, (click on the address for a link to a map --->) 3333 South Colorado Boulevard, Denver, CO, 80222. 

  Doors will open at 5:00 PM.  Last call will be 9:00 PM and the event ends at 9:30 PM. This will be a cash bar (CREDIT CARD ONLY, NO CASH) with passed hors d'oeuvres and food stations around the site. This event will have a main room with tables and chairs for seated dining and another room with tall cocktail tables for reconnecting. The cost for this event will be $65.00 per person.

  • Raffle Drawing for TJ swag, items from M.C. Squared and many “surprises”!
  • Fire code limitations restrict us to 200 people.
  • Receipt of payment will confirm your reservation.  Deadline for sign-ups is 7/15. Payments due by 7/21.  Payment by check MUST be postmarked by July 15^th.
  • NO TICKETS WILL BE SOLD AT THE DOOR!! ADMIITTANCE BY PREPAID RESERVATION ONLY!!

    Dinner Menu: Wellshire Event Center

         PASSED HORS D’ OEUVRES

• Roma Tomato Bruschetta on a Crispy Baguette drizzled with Balsamic Reduction
• Mini Sausage wrapped in Phyllo Puff Pastry, and served with a Trio of Mustards
• Mini Maryland Crab Cakes made with lump Blue Crab drizzled with Red Pepper Aioli Sauce

         HOMEMADE FRENCH ROLLS

• Warm, fresh homemade bread made on-site in the Wellshire bakery, prepared with no preservatives and served with butter.

         COLORADO FARMER’S MARKET GREENS ( make your own salad )

• Fresh mixed green salad served with guest choice sides of: seasoned cherry tomatoes, hand cut cucumbers, shredded organic carrots, diced almonds, sunflower seeds, hard boiled eggs, crumbled blue cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, black olives, diced avocado.

  Dressings; red wine vinaigrette, buttermilk ranch and blue cheese.
  
  

• MAIN ENTRÉE
  There will be three entrées consisting of beef, sea food and vegetarian at three different stations.
  
  
• FLAT IRON STEAK MEDALLION
  

  Tender, Flat Iron Steak Cut Medallion marinated overnight in red wine, fresh garlic, rosemary and chives, grilled and then finished in the oven.
  
  

• BAKED ATLANTIC SALMON
  Baked Atlantic salmon filet with peppercorn and Colorado honey glaze marked on the flat top and finished in the oven.
  
  
• PASTA di Verdure * VEGETARIAN
  Chefs Choice with roasted red peppers, artichoke hearts, asparagus tips, zucchini and mini summer squash, blended and served with goat cheese in a white cream sauce.
  
  

• ROASTED PURPLE POTATOES
  Purple potatoes hand tossed in Extra Virgin Olive Oil, sea salt, fresh black pepper and hand chopped fresh rosemary and roasted to perfection.
  
  

         Freshly brewed coffee, decaffeinated coffee, hot tea, ice tea, and traditional
         accompaniments.

Sunday, August 7, 2022:

• FAREWELL BRUNCH:  A brunch to say farewell to our newly found old friends will be held at 9:00 AM at The Marriott DTC in a semi-private room, at 4900 South Syracuse Street, Denver, CO 80237 <---CLICK HERE for map.  This is your last opportunity to capture pictures, exchange contact information, and get those last hugs, until the next reunion.  The cost will be up to you as you will be able to order from the restaurant brunch menu.

TIME CHANGED TO 9:00 am.  Breakfast is only served until 11:00 and if we all show up at 10:00, they may struggle to serve us all by 11:00.  Please feel free to start gathering around 9:00 am, or whenever it works for you.

Make your reservation and purchase your tickets for the Wellshire dinner early! We only have 200 tickets to sell. Your reservation is NOT confirmed until we have received your payment. Use one of the four methods listed below to make your payment. Electronic payments are preferred.  Reservations for Wellshire will close July 15 and all payments must be received by July 21.  Payment by check must also be postmarked by July 15^th to arrive by July 21^st, barring Post Office delays.  In the event ticket sales go quickly, reservations may close earlier, so get your tickets ASAP!

It will be a great evening of stories, laughter, memories and reconnecting with those with whom we shared our teen years.
