Eric T. Isberg, 62, of Denver, CO passed away at his home on September 2nd. Eric was a man with an artist’s soul. He was smart, sensitive and creative man who loved being with people. Eric got his BS in Childhood Psychology in ’77. He spent his junior year studying art and German in Austria. The college experience remained a permanent part of him and influenced the rest of his life. He loved to travel and returned to Europe many times. He thoroughly enjoyed the art museums of Italy and Spain and dreamed of living in Barcelona. He took what he learned and saw and applied it to the canvas producing unusual works with his style and medium changing with each work. Out of college he started working in construction, first in the woodworking area and soon in steel buildings. Eric and his partner had their own business for several years. Eric eventually set out on his own and worked as a project manager often wearing many hats, from sales, engineering and to general contractor. His last big project was managing the construction of the airplane hangers for the Erie airport.
After our father died in 1998, Eric took on the role of caregiver for our mother. He loved to cook and would make gourmet meals that were good for a diabetic diet. His love and care for our mother let her live a meaningful life in her home until she died. He used his creativity to bring light and fun into the routine of her restricted life. Cinco de Mayo dinners, fat Tuesday beads with cajun food, dinners for the family and the willingness to host Christmas Eve where multiple family members got into the act of cooking traditional Swedish foods.
Eric enjoyed the camping and fishing and found trips to the mountains to be a way to restore his soul. Having a Jeep was a must so he could explore places difficult to access.
He is survived by his 4 siblings, Clifford Isberg, Roger Isberg, Cherilynn Isberg Cathey, and Warren Isberg, and his 4 nephews and 1 niece.
