Help Tommy Walk Again
By: Joe Fierro Jr
Animal Control was called by a witness who found this tiny puppy stuffed in a duffel bag on a college campus, BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE! Tommy is paralyzed due to blunt force spinal trauma. Tommy needs your help right now because as every minute goes by the chances of him ever walking again diminishes. Rescuers have rushed him to the emergency center to see what other internal damages he may have. He can't control his bladder and he is very confused as to why someone would do this to him and why he can no longer walk and play as an innocent puppy should. Spinal traumas are one of the most risky pulls for rescues due to the fact that they usually require A. A specialty emergency center B. A neurologist C. would need an MRI asap to determine the integrity of his spine. An estimate for his care is well over $5,000 AND THAT's just the beginning (not including if he is a candidate for surgery or months of Physical Therapy). Most small rescues will not touch a spinal trauma case but we need you to help Second Chance Rescue NYC take that risk for Tommy and pull him from the shelter to give him his life altering care that this baby deserves. Every minute that passes he will lose pain sensation and his nerves will no longer respond. If you believe this puppy deserves the opportunity to walk again just like we do, please help support SCR NYC! I know with your help this baby can survive the horrible abuse that his abuser has inflicted on him. UPDATE: I have an important message from SCR that we wanted to share with you. "When we put up Tommy The Baby Pitbull’s plea yesterday, our followers rallied like nothing I have ever seen before to help us get him out of the shelter, we are just the vessel that the dogs speak through. They have no voice, WE are their voice and I am most certainly comfortable with the decisions we all made to get him out of there fast. Every day almost 2,700 pitbulls are put down in kill shelters, we were not about to let Tommy become another statistic just because he was paralyzed….he didn’t ask for the cruelly at the hands of a human and we had a responsibility and opportunity to change that."   TOMMY has deep pain sensation in his extremities. He was seen be a panel of experts and had several diagnostics, the conclusion so far is that they are hopeful he will be able to walk again with hardcore physical therapy/water therapy for several months. Tommy will have to put a lot of work in and so will SCR NYC, it will be an honor to be with him in this journey and we hope you will all be a part of it as well. This is where we are asking for your help! We have partnered with SCR NYC to create the animal saving shirts, sweaters and accessories to raise the funds needed to save tiny Tommy. It is unimaginable to think what they hit Tommy with to break his back. But, we are here to save his life. Purchase your animal saving tee today and help us save Tommy.

Gift of Sight
By: Eileen Linnett
On Saturday Feb 5, 2012, we left home, flatbed tralier in tow, headed to town to buy some lumber supplies for a project. Miles out of town, along side the railroad tracks and in the ditch running as fast as 4 legs could carry it, ran this skinny, muddy little dog. We had to pass it and turn around cause there was no place to stop and someone behind us. So we did... when we got back to her, she reluctantly came to us. Rolled over in that sweet little submissive way they do. She had a number of scars on her and was so skinny. But her eyes were bright and shiny and full of life.  She smelled, was muddy, and in heat, but we piled in the truck, her in my lap! And back to our house we go. We fed her and gave her water and started calling her Bailee. We posted signs to see if she belonged to anyone. (I'm praying no one answered) On Monday the 7th we went to vet. She had worms, heartworms, and there was that lil issue of being in heat. We already had 3 other fur babies and couldn't do a litter of puppies! Thankfully, she was NOT pregnant. We treated the worms, got a microchip, we started the heartworm treatments and this lil princess had a home! Our vet laughed and said "this is one of the luckiest dogs I've ever known". She quickly took her place in the pack and in our bed!  She never had a bad day, not even during the heartworm treatments. So after treatments were complete she was living the high life! And then one day in June 2012 I noticed one of her beautiful big brown eyes had a very distinct crystal blue look in it. So I made an appt with the vet. She recommended taking her to Houston Gulf Coast Eye Clinic for Animals. So off we went...  as it turns out she has a genetic trait where her mother and father both had a specific gene when bred, it causes early onset of cataracts in their offspring.  Who knew? I sure didn't!  But they gave us eyedrops and said "sometimes" this helps. We were faithful to the drops for 3 full months but the cataract only continued to grow larger at each exam. By December 2012, she had developed one in the left eye as well. Now, she's totally blind due to these horrible things called cataracts! She does really well considering she can't see, her tail never stops wagging, a smile is always on that face, and her brothers have learned to stay out of her way... lol We keep our house and yard a pet safe zone. But she had an accident the other day an ran into something in the backyard, we still haven't figured out what,  but it came really close to putting her left eye out. The vet said, "if it had been any closer it would have gotten her eye". When I posted the pics of her injury in iHeartPitbulls, someone suggested I start a fund raiser for her. I'm not one to ask for help, so this was difficult for me. I'm not asking for me, but for this SWEET FUR BABY I want so much for her to see the world..  but I just don't have the $ to give her that and I've been trying to save it for 3 years I can't get there on my own. So if you would like to help her see again please go to the link and make whatever donation you can, nothing is too small, every single dollar is appreciated. Thank you for your time. God Bless! livin' the pibble life :-)

What Our Clients Say

We are launching our inaugural event to raise funds for water purification systems to be placed in third world villages. I needed a website built on top of a platform well suited for ticket sales and donations. After reviewing several SaaS providers, I chose Rob is a pleasure to work with and has a team that is responsive and inventive. I'll be using MyEvent for the many years to come.
